Bills stun Bengals with wild fourth-quarter comeback (full coverage)

On a snowy Sunday afternoon at Highmark Stadium, the Buffalo Bills delivered one of their wildest comebacks of the Josh Allen era, erupting for three touchdowns in less than five minutes to stun the Cincinnati Bengals, 39-34.

Trailing 28-18 with 8:44 remaining, the Bills’ surge began when Allen broke free for a 40-yard rushing touchdown, the longest by a quarterback in franchise history. Moments later, Christian Benford jumped a quick pass intended for Ja’Marr Chase and returned it 63 yards for a pick-six, giving Buffalo its first lead of the second half.

On the Bengals’ very next snap, Jordan Phillips deflected a Joe Burrow throw that floated into AJ Epenesa’s hands, setting up a short field. The Bills capitalized on fourth down as Allen found rookie Jackson Hawes for a three-yard score to push the lead to 39-28.

Burrow answered with a 25-yard touchdown to Tee Higgins, but his fumble on the two-point try kept Buffalo ahead by five. With Cincinnati out of timeouts, the Bills needed one last conversion to close it out, and Allen delivered, scrambling 18 yards on third-and-15 to seal the victory.

Allen finished with 251 yards and three passing touchdowns, along with 78 rushing yards and a score. Buffalo’s tight end trio of Dawson Knox, Dalton Kincaid, and Jackson Hawes combined for 11 receptions, 139 yards, and two touchdowns.

The win pushed the Bills record to 9-4, while the Bengals dropped to 4-9 with the loss.
