Auburn police arrested a man Thursday after a woman reported he repeatedly violated a court-issued order of protection.
Officers took Anthony M. Johns into custody at the Grant Motel around 5 p.m. on December 4. According to police, Johns had been contacting the protected woman daily — through texts, calls, and voicemails — despite being legally ordered to stay away since November 18.
Police say the victim also met with Johns several times and received sexually explicit videos and photos from him. On December 2, he reportedly went to her workplace and brushed snow off her car. She reported the ongoing violations two days later.
Because of his criminal history, Johns was charged with a felony in addition to the protection order violations. He faces one count of aggravated family offense, a Class E felony, and one count of criminal contempt in the 2nd degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
Johns was taken to the Cayuga County Jail, where he’s being held pending arraignment.
