A Facebook post praising Donald Trump’s immigration policies by Auburn High’s vice principal sparked calls for dialogue, according to The Auburn Citizen. A progressive group, Worth Uniting Cayuga, flagged the private post and is urging conversations—not discipline—with the school board and staff.
The coalition says such posts can alienate migrant students and others in the classroom. They’re hosting a letter-writing event and plan to attend the Dec. 9 school board meeting.
District leaders stressed that employees’ personal views don’t reflect school policy, but the group wants more transparency from elected officials on their beliefs and decisions.
