Horseheads man charged with sex abuse, child endangerment

State police have arrested a Horseheads man following a months-long investigation into allegations involving a child.

On October 27, troopers from the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Horseheads arrested 36-year-old Henry W. Cuesta. He is charged with sexual abuse in the first degree, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

The case began in June after authorities received a report of inappropriate contact involving a juvenile in the Town of Horseheads. Investigators, working alongside the Chemung County District Attorney’s Office, later identified Cuesta as the suspect.

He surrendered at the State Police station in Horseheads, where he was processed and arraigned. Cuesta was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to return to court on November 12 at 7 p.m.
