Auburn police arrested a local man this week after seizing a handgun from his home in connection with a Child Protective Services report.
Officers say 45-year-old Richard A. Currier Jr. was arrested on October 29 following a traffic stop near North Seward Avenue and Franklin Street. The arrest came after police received information days earlier that Currier, a convicted felon, was in possession of a firearm.
The handgun was recovered from his residence at 29 Capitol Street earlier that day, and Currier was later taken into custody during the stop.
He is charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a Class D felony.
The investigation was handled by the Auburn Police Department, with the media release authored by Sergeant Walters.
