A Rochester man was arrested in the Village of Bath on October 27 after police discovered fentanyl during a traffic stop involving an erratic driver and suspected domestic dispute.
According to the Bath Police Department, officers were called to State Route 415 South around 12:38 p.m. after reports of a vehicle driving erratically and possibly involved in a rolling domestic incident.
Officers from Bath PD, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, and New York State Police located the vehicle and made contact with its occupants. Police determined that an argument inside the car had led to the erratic driving.
During the investigation, officers found a quantity of fentanyl in possession of a passenger, identified as Anthony R. Jackson, 39, of Rochester. He was taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
The driver of the vehicle was issued traffic tickets for unlicensed operation and driving left of pavement markings.
In addition to the drug charge, police discovered that Jackson had active felony warrants out of Rochester. He was issued an appearance ticket for Bath Village Court and later turned over to the Rochester Police Department on the outstanding warrants.
