Geneva man charged in stolen credit card case

A Geneva man is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing and using a credit card belonging to a Yates County resident.

Edison Maisonave-Coto was arrested on Oct. 23 following an investigation by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office. The credit card was reported stolen in the Town of Starkey and later used to make purchases in the Village of Penn Yan.

Maisonave-Coto is charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree and criminal possession of stolen property, both E-level felonies related to the unauthorized use of a credit card.

Deputies released him on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Starkey Town Court at a later date.
