A 21-year-old man was arrested late Saturday night after allegedly threatening staff with a metal object at a Clifton Springs treatment facility.
Deputies responded to FLACRA on East Main Street around 11:30 p.m. after a report of a patient menacing a nurse. When they arrived, they found the man still holding the object and visibly upset over a medication issue.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, the man—identified as Austin T. Haynes of Fairport—threatened several staff members before dropping the object when ordered to do so by law enforcement.
As deputies took him into custody, Haynes allegedly attempted to spit on them multiple times. He was charged with three counts of menacing, attempted assault in the second degree, and attempted assault in the third degree.
Haynes was arraigned in CAP Court and held at the Ontario County Jail on $10,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Manchester Court at a later date.
