A Penn Yan man is facing two separate legal issues after police arrested him twice on Monday — once for harassment and again on a warrant out of another county.
Officers say 38-year-old Joshua D. Nava was first issued a criminal summons for harassment in the second degree. The charge stems from a complaint that he struck a village resident in the face during a dispute back on October 6.
Later that same day, police arrested Nava again — this time on a warrant issued by Ulster County Family Court. Officers took him into custody at his home and later turned him over to the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office.
Nava is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
