A daycare employee is facing charges after deputies say she pushed a one-year-old child face down on a mat during nap time.
Abigail Dalicandro, 24, of Rochester, was arrested Oct. 14 following an investigation into a July 25 incident at Inspire Learning and Child Care in Walworth, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say Dalicandro was caring for the child when the alleged abuse happened. She reportedly held the child face down repeatedly after the child refused to nap.
Deputies charged Dalicandro with endangering the welfare of a child. She was processed at the Wayne County Jail and released on an appearance ticket.
She is scheduled to appear in Walworth Town Court at a later date.
