Bills drop second straight in ugly loss to Falcons, fall out of first place in AFC East (full coverage)

The Buffalo Bills dropped to 4-2 after an ugly 24-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, marking their second straight defeat and pushing them behind the New England Patriots in the AFC East standings.

Buffalo’s defense was overwhelmed early, surrendering 299 first-half yards to Atlanta’s Bijan Robinson and Drake London. London torched the secondary for 158 yards and a touchdown, while Robinson added 238 total yards, including an 81-yard score. The Bills’ secondary, led by Taylor Rapp and rookie Cole Bishop, struggled mightily, exposing a glaring weakness that’s plagued the team through six weeks.

Offensively, the Bills sputtered for a second straight week, this time without Dalton Kincaid and Curtis Samuel, who are both dealing with injuries. Dawson Knox provided an early touchdown grab, but Buffalo’s passing attack stalled as Josh Allen was pressured all game. Allen threw two interceptions, and the offense never found rhythm, especially after receiver Joshua Palmer exited with an ankle injury.

The Bills’ sloppiness continued to define their recent stretch, committing eight penalties and multiple turnovers for the third straight week. After opening the year as one of the league’s most disciplined teams, Buffalo has now been flagged 30 times and turned the ball over six times in its last three games.
