Police arrested a man after responding to reports of two violent incidents just a day apart in Waterloo.
Justin P. Voorhees, 45, was taken into custody late Sept. 29 and charged with third-degree assault, third-degree menacing, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
According to the Waterloo Police Department, the charges stem from two separate domestic disputes — one on Sept. 28 and another the following night. In one case, investigators say Voorhees physically assaulted a juvenile victim, leaving them with serious bruises and lacerations. In the other, he allegedly tackled the victim and then threatened them with a wooden stick.
Officers say the threats caused the victim to fear further physical harm.
Voorhees was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where he is awaiting arraignment. Police say an order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim.
