Local residents who want to make a difference in kids’ lives are invited to a special event hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Newark.
The club will hold a membership mixer on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. at Parker’s Grille and Taproom, located at 206 S. Main Street in Newark. Light appetizers will be served.
The event is open to anyone interested in helping local children, connecting with community-minded neighbors, and learning more about the club’s service projects.
“The Kiwanis Club of Newark helps children in our community by collecting school supplies, donating gift cards to teachers, and supporting St. Mark’s baby closet,” said club president Roberta Colacino. “One of our highlights is the annual Christmas program that provides gift boxes for migrant children.”
The club also sponsors an Aktion Club, which offers service opportunities for adults with disabilities.
“This mixer is a great chance to meet people who care about making a local impact,” Roberta said. “Kids need Kiwanis, and we’re here to help them thrive.”
