Ithaca man arrested for burglary and child endangerment

An Ithaca man was arrested early Friday morning on multiple charges, including burglary and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Ithaca Police Department.

Johnathan T. Byrd, 36, was taken into custody on October 10 pursuant to an active arrest warrant. The warrant included charges of second-degree burglary and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say that once Byrd was brought to the Ithaca Police Department, he became uncooperative and aggressive, refusing to comply with standard booking procedures. As a result, he was additionally charged with obstructing governmental administration.

Following his arrest, Byrd was arraigned by Judge Wallace and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail.
