An Auburn man has been arrested for allegedly violating a court-issued order of protection in the Town of Springport, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
Christopher A. Coyle Sr., 50, was taken into custody on October 5 after turning himself in at the Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested on an active warrant for criminal contempt in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
The investigation began on August 26, when deputies responded to a complaint that Coyle had violated a full stay-away order of protection by being in the presence of the protected individual. After confirming the report, deputies obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Coyle was processed and arraigned the same evening in CAP Court and is scheduled to appear in Springport Town Court at a later date.
