A mother and son have filed a federal lawsuit accusing the Jordan-Elbridge Central School District of ignoring nearly two years of racist harassment, according to The Citizen. Melissa Ellingworth says her son Trevor endured slurs, “white power” taunts, and even whip-cracking gestures from classmates without meaningful intervention.
The suit claims district officials called students “knuckleheads” instead of protecting Trevor, who later developed depression and transferred to a private school. It seeks damages, policy changes, and attorney fees.
District leaders declined comment but have moved to dismiss the case.
