Penn Yan hospital invites community to honor veterans

Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital is once again offering a heartfelt way for the community to honor local veterans in the lead-up to Veterans Day.

The hospital’s Auxiliary is continuing its annual “Remember and Honor Those Who Served” tribute through the end of November. For a donation of $10 or more, individuals can submit the name of a veteran to be placed on the hospital’s Honor Roll display in the lobby.

The campaign not only serves as a public display of gratitude but also supports an important cause — all proceeds will go toward purchasing new equipment for the hospital’s Emergency Department.

The project reflects the hospital’s legacy, dating back over 100 years when it was named in honor of Yates County residents who served in World War I.

To participate, send a check made payable to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, along with the name of the service member (and whether the donation is made in honor or memory), to:

Loree MacKerchar
300 North Ave.
Penn Yan, NY 14527

Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
