A man was taken to the hospital after crashing into a tree in Shortsville Saturday morning.
Deputies say 52-year-old Todd Kravetz was behind the wheel of a 2019 Ford Escape when he suddenly veered off Water Street and struck a tree at high speed.
Witnesses told Ontario County deputies that Kravetz had briefly stopped in the road before accelerating and losing control. Investigators believe he may have suffered a medical emergency before the crash.
Shortsville Ambulance transported him to Clifton Springs Hospital for evaluation. Deputies also cited Kravetz for unlicensed operation.
JC Auto towed the vehicle from the scene. The NYS Police, along with Manchester and Shortsville fire departments, assisted at the crash site.
