Deputies recovered a man’s body from the Erie Canal Wednesday afternoon after a 911 call alerted authorities, according to 13WHAM TV.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Pittsford Fire Department responded near Great Embankment Park around 2 p.m. A civilian spotted the body, which officials say belonged to a middle-aged or older man.
The medical examiner is working to identify him. Investigators don’t suspect foul play and say there’s no threat to the public.
