Truck driver critically injured in Sodus rollover crash

A truck driver was critically injured Monday morning after his rig overturned on State Route 104 in the town of Sodus, according to New York State Police.

Troopers say the crash happened around 11:40 a.m. when a 2018 Kenworth tractor-trailer left the road and rolled into a ditch along the south shoulder. The driver, 45-year-old Timothy J. Zrebiec of Manlius, was found partially ejected and unconscious.

EMS crews from Wayne County and the Wallington Fire Department provided emergency care at the scene. Zrebiec was taken by ambulance to the Williamson Airport, then airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He remains in critical condition in the ICU.

State Police were assisted by the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Environmental Conservation. A minor fuel leak from the truck was contained and reported to DEC under Spill #2505502.

The road was shut down for several hours during the investigation and cleanup. Police say there are no signs that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
