A late-night crash in Jefferson County left one person dead after their vehicle overturned and caught fire, according to New York State Police.
The collision happened just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, along State Route 177 near Adams Center.
Troopers say a 2011 Ford Expedition was heading westbound when it veered off the road and hit a culvert. The SUV rolled several times, struck a mailbox, and then burst into flames. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
