Two Rochester mail carriers were robbed Thursday afternoon while on their routes, according to News10NBC. The first robbery happened around 3:30 p.m., leaving residents shaken and wondering if checks or personal mail were the targets.
Police say a second robbery happened just an hour later at Depew and Forbes Street. K-9 officers tried to track the suspects but came up empty. Residents say they’re stunned and concerned for the carriers’ safety.
The local union confirmed three mail carriers were attacked this week alone. Authorities are urging the public to call 911 if they see anyone suspicious near a postal worker.
