Election season is officially underway in Ontario County, where officials have certified the ballots for this year’s general election on November 4.
More than 140 candidates will appear on ballots across the county, with over 84,000 registered voters eligible to cast a vote by mail or in person.
Ballots for absentee and early vote-by-mail voters — including those with permanent absentee status — will start going out the week of September 29. In-person early voting runs from October 25 to November 2, and polls will be open on Election Day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sample ballots for each city and town are now available at ontariocountyny.gov/2025Election, along with full details about early voting times and locations.
Saturday, October 25 is also the last day to register to vote or apply for a mail-in ballot. The Board of Elections office in Canandaigua will be open that day to help with voter registration, address changes, or ballot requests.
Voters can also access tools to check their registration status or apply to become an election inspector at ontariocountyny.gov/elections.
