A 67-year-old man was killed Tuesday when his Corvette crashed into a garbage truck and burst into flames on I-590 in Brighton, according to New York State Police.
The crash happened around 3 p.m. when the Corvette tried to pass the truck, struck it, and got pinned before catching fire. The man died at the scene; his name hasn’t been released. The truck’s driver and passenger weren’t hurt.
The crash shut down southbound lanes for hours. Police say the truck driver was not impaired.
