Residents say Ithaca complex is unsafe

Broken doors, human waste, and used needles have turned the Asteri Ithaca housing complex into what residents call a nightmare, according to WBNG.

Tenants and former security guards say drug use, assaults, and 911 calls are common. One former guard claims they weren’t allowed to carry Narcan, even during overdoses. Some recovering addicts have reportedly relapsed shortly after moving in.

Vecino Group, which owns the building, denies the severity of the issues but faces lawsuits from both residents and ex-staff. Families still living there say safety remains a serious concern.
