A former U.S. Border Patrol agent made at least a dozen migrant women lift their shirts on camera during virtual processing sessions, according to Times Union. He claimed he was checking for chest tattoos.

Shane Millan, 54, used a translation app to issue the commands while working remotely from upstate New York in 2023. One woman, holding an infant, was told her paperwork wouldn’t be signed unless she complied.

He was sentenced to 12 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to two misdemeanors. Prosecutors said the abuse only came to light after multiple victims came forward.
