A woman was found dead early Tuesday in a U-Haul truck on William Street after what police say was a fatal overdose.
Officers with the Geneva Police Department responded around 2:20 a.m. and found the 35-year-old woman unresponsive. First responders from Finger Lakes Ambulance and the Geneva Fire Department tried to revive her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say they later arrested 39-year-old Charles C. Karsten of Geneva, a convicted felon, for selling the drugs that led to the woman’s death.
Detectives charged Karsten with two class B felonies: criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance. When they took him into custody, they also found a large amount of drugs similar to those recovered at the scene.
He was processed and taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment. Geneva Police thanked multiple agencies for assisting in the case.
