Victor man ticketed for allegedly striking dog with electrical cord

A Victor man is facing an animal cruelty charge after deputies say he used an electrical cord to hit his dog.

Deputies with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office issued a ticket to 50-year-old Gerald Culbertson on August 18. The incident reportedly happened at his home on Clover Lane.

Investigators say Culbertson struck the dog several times with a cord. He was charged with one count of overdriving, torturing, and injuring animals under the state’s Agriculture and Markets Law.

Culbertson is due in the Town of Victor Court at a later date.
