New York’s cannabis tracking system rollout is on hold — and growers say it could be delayed six months to a year, according to Spectrum News. The state paused its Seed to Sale program after BioTrack, the contractor managing it, merged with rival Metrc.
The delay leaves the legal market vulnerable to untracked, out-of-state products and falling wholesale prices. Farmers fear they’ll be forced to re-tag crops or face fines, even as the system stalls.
Officials say they’ll decide next steps by month’s end, but growers aren’t holding their breath.
