State police responded early Monday to a crash involving two tractor-trailers on the northbound New York State Thruway between Exits 20 and 21.
The collision happened around 4:45 a.m. Investigators said a 2024 Peterbilt driven by 28-year-old Andnet Yitna Kirubel of Windsor, Ontario, was traveling in the left lane when it attempted to move right and struck the rear of a 2018 Freightliner driven by 56-year-old Jorge Montes De Oca of Miami, Fla.
Troopers said the Peterbilt sideswiped the Freightliner before veering onto the right shoulder, where its cab overturned and the trailer came to rest against a guiderail. Neither driver was injured, and no tickets were issued.
The crash caused delays in the area during the morning as crews worked to clear the scene.
