A new mural celebrating Seneca Falls’ industrial past will soon cover the rear wall of the town-owned Museum and Tourism Center, the Finger Lakes Times reports. The Town Board unanimously endorsed the design Aug. 5, allowing work to begin Aug. 18 with completion expected in about eight days.
Funded by the Bonafiglia Family Foundation, the mural by husband-and-wife artists Key Detail will depict the Cayuga-Seneca Canal’s role in powering local industries, including mills, Goulds Pumps, and early manufacturing, alongside period workers.
The board also addressed resident complaints about water department employees entering homes without adults present, and fielded questions on the town manager’s attendance, budget planning, and a proposed pay raise for the water and sewer superintendent.
