A Rochester man is facing felony charges after a knife attack during a dispute at Watkins Glen International.
The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office says Gregory H. Harvey, 33, was arrested August 8 and charged with first-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child. Deputies allege Harvey used a knife to cause serious physical injury during the incident.
Harvey was arraigned in Schuyler County CAP Court and is being held in the county jail on $40,000 cash bail or $80,000 bond.
The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible. Officials stressed the incident was isolated and there is no threat to the safety of race fans at Watkins Glen International.
