A man has been arrested for starting a massive warehouse fire in Rochester that injured a firefighter and destroyed a building.
According to police, 28-year-old Omar Derow used an “open flame device” to ignite the Canal Street building in November 2024, while it was under renovation. Derow was first arrested in February after being found in a stolen vehicle, but missed court and was taken into custody again Friday.
He now faces arson and motor vehicle charges and remains jailed as the investigation continues.
