Arson suspect charged in Rochester warehouse fire

A man has been arrested for a major fire that destroyed a Rochester warehouse last year, according to 13WHAM.

Omar Derow, 28, is accused of intentionally setting the vacant Canal Street building ablaze with an open flame device in November 2024. One firefighter was injured during the four-alarm blaze. The building was under renovation at the time.

Derow was first taken into custody in February after being found in a stolen vehicle, but missed court and was re-arrested last week. He now faces arson and vehicle-related charges and remains in custody.
