A 24-year-old man from Greece was killed Sunday afternoon after crashing his motorcycle following an alleged police chase in Irondequoit, according to News10NBC. Police say the rider failed to stop for an officer and later collided with an SUV near Durand Eastman Beach.
The chase began around 12:14 p.m. when an officer spotted the motorcycle speeding on Titus Avenue. The pursuit ended minutes later when the motorcyclist struck a Nissan SUV pulling into a parking space on Lakeshore Boulevard. He was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts.
The victim’s name has not been released. No one else was hurt. The New York State Attorney General’s Office will lead the investigation.
