A shed erupted in flames just feet from a home in Aurelius Sunday night, drawing a heavy response from multiple departments and triggering a brief alarm for nearby properties.
The Aurelius Volunteer Fire Department reported that firefighters were dispatched at 20:11 for a fully involved shed fire approximately 10 feet from a residence. The first chief to arrive confirmed the shed was engulfed, with fire threatening the B and C corners of the adjacent structure.
Crews quickly knocked down the fire and checked for any extension to the nearby home. The fast action allowed command to cancel the tanker box and a Rapid Intervention Crew from Waterloo.
Meanwhile, Union Springs and Throop fire departments provided station coverage.
