Longtime radio reporter Greg Cotterill, a staple of local journalism in the Finger Lakes, has passed away.
He was known for being a journalistic voice within the Finger Lakes Radio Group and managed stations WHWS and WEOS at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
Cotterill was praised for his commitment to community news, mentoring students, and love of music.
He was recently honored for covering a major fire in Ovid, and his final stories included the GrassRoots music festival.
Friends and colleagues remembered him as a tireless advocate for local radio. Funeral plans have not been announced.
