Trumansburg Community Nursery School has officially reopened in its new Crescent Way location, according to the Tompkins Weekly. After completing licensing in June, the school now operates within the Village Grove Housing development, offering affordable early childhood education and care.
The nonprofit, parent-run preschool serves up to 48 children and has enrolled 35 families for the fall. Director Debra Austic emphasized the school’s commitment to flexibility and financial accessibility, supported in part by local grants that fund scholarships for families in need.
As demand for child care grows across New York, Austic said the school will now accept state subsidies to help offset rising costs. The move comes amid continued industry challenges statewide, including worker shortages and soaring care expenses.
