An Ithaca man is in custody without bail after police say he was found with heroin, fentanyl, crack cocaine, and cannabis during a traffic stop on the city’s south side.
Jason Denmark, 48, was arrested July 9 around 1:00 p.m. by officers from the Ithaca Police Department and New York State Police during a joint Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) detail. The vehicle was pulled over on South Titus Avenue near South Plain Street for traffic violations and suspicious behavior.
After a roadside interview, a State Police K9 alerted on the vehicle, prompting a search that turned up suspected heroin/fentanyl, suspected crack cocaine, over five ounces of cannabis, and drug paraphernalia.
Denmark faces multiple charges, including third-degree and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, and unlawful possession of cannabis.
He was arraigned in Ithaca City Court by Judge Seth Peacock and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail with no bail.
