A Walworth woman faces a series of felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from a February crash and vehicle theft in the Town of Ontario, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies arrested 34-year-old Danielle L. Stokes on July 8 following the results of toxicology tests related to a February 7 incident. Authorities say Stokes was involved in a single-vehicle property damage crash on Paddy Lane and was later found to have a blood alcohol content of .26%—more than three times the legal limit.
According to deputies, Stokes allegedly stole a vehicle and a cell phone from a man she had been drinking and using drugs with. Responding officers found her highly impaired and unable to hold her head up or follow commands. She was taken to a hospital after becoming unresponsive.
In addition to multiple traffic violations, Stokes is charged with grand larceny, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, and reckless endangerment. Toxicology reports showed she was under the influence of cocaine, buprenorphine, and midazolam.
Stokes was processed at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and released with appearance tickets. She is scheduled to appear in Ontario Town Court at a later date.
