Auburn scores $1M grant for upscale housing project

Auburn will receive a $1 million state grant to support Bluefield Pointe, a $23 million townhome project on the city’s west end, according to The Citizen. The funding, secured through the County Infrastructure Grant Program, will help pay for water, sewer, sidewalks, and street extensions.

The development includes 70 upscale apartments with modern features, private entries, garages, and amenities like a pool, dog park, and clubhouse. Rents will range from $1,775 to $2,495 and target households earning over $100,000 annually.

Local officials see the project as vital to meeting future housing demand, especially with growth expected from the nearby Micron chip plant.
