Congressman Nick Langworthy praised President Donald Trump’s decision to launch airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, calling the action a necessary step to protect U.S. interests and global security.

Langworthy, who represents New York’s 23rd Congressional District, issued a statement Saturday evening following Trump’s announcement of the military strikes.

“Today, President Trump acted with strength and clarity to eliminate a grave threat to our nation, our allies, and the world,” Langworthy said. “After Iran refused every diplomatic path and persisted in its dangerous pursuit of nuclear weapons, the President was left with no choice but to defend American interests and global security.”

Langworthy commended the U.S. military for its execution of the mission, calling the operation a demonstration of “bold leadership, unshakable resolve, and an unwavering commitment” to national defense.

“This action sends an unmistakable message: the United States will never tolerate a nuclear-armed Iran,” Langworthy said. “I stand with the President and our heroic service members as they defend peace and protect the American people.”
