Waterloo has secured a $3 million federal grant to enhance its storm sewer system and prevent flooding, according to the Finger Lakes Times. The funding, awarded by the Northern Border Regional Commission, will also go toward improving sidewalks, curbs, and road drainage.
The upgrades will support the village’s $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative by boosting infrastructure resilience and pedestrian safety. U.S. Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced the grant as part of $12.3 million in federal aid for upstate New York projects.
The commission targets revitalization in northern border areas, including Seneca County, through investments that promote economic stability and quality of life.
