A new traffic signal has been installed at the busy intersection of Route 34 and Thruway Exit 40 in Brutus, Cayuga County, according to The Citizen. The state DOT made the change following a traffic study to improve safety.
The signal features flashing yellow lights for Route 34 drivers and flashing red lights for vehicles exiting the Thruway. New signage and lane markings were also added to help manage the area’s nearly 12,000 daily vehicles.
The light will become operational once power is connected to the site.
