The New York State Department of Transportation will host a public meeting tonight to share plans for a major repaving project on the city’s Arterial highway and part of Grant Avenue.
The meeting will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at Auburn Fire Station #1, located at 31 Seminary Street. Officials will present a project overview and design details for the rehabilitation of a 2.67-mile stretch of Routes 5 & 20.
The proposed work covers the area between Route 326 on the west side of the city and the Standart/Grant Avenue intersection on the east. The DOT is currently in the design phase, with construction expected to begin in June 2026 and continue through the end of the 2027 construction season.
Residents, business owners, and commuters are encouraged to attend the meeting, which is open to the public, to ask questions and learn more about the project timeline and scope.
