A man was arrested Tuesday morning after a stolen vehicle turned up abandoned in a local parking lot.
Patrick Cronan, 61, of Seneca Falls was charged with felony Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree. The Seneca Falls Police Department took Cronan into custody at approximately 10:26 a.m. on April 22, following an investigation that began in December.
Authorities said the vehicle had previously been reported stolen from Geneva. Officers on routine patrol discovered the car in the parking lot of a local business. It appeared abandoned. The vehicle was later returned to its rightful owner.
The investigation determined that Cronan had operated and possessed the stolen vehicle and then left it in the business parking lot.
Police issued Cronan appearance tickets for both charges. He is scheduled to answer the charges in town court at a later date.
