The Auburn Chamber Orchestra is inviting the public to a stirring celebration of classical music’s most iconic marches at its upcoming concert, “Symphonic March Madness,” on Sunday, May 4.
The performance, conducted by Dr. Victor Vallo, Jr., will take place at 2:00 p.m. at The REV/Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, located at 6877 East Lake Road in Auburn. Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted.
The program showcases a dynamic lineup of symphonic marches, including Berlioz’s “March to the Scaffold” from Symphonie Fantastique, Saint-Saëns’ Marche Militaire Française, Mendelssohn’s Wedding March from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Tchaikovsky’s Marche Slav, Purcell’s Prince of Denmark’s March, Wagner’s Grand March from Tannhäuser, and Verdi’s Triumphal March from Aida.
Now in its 38th season, the Auburn Chamber Orchestra is composed of musicians from across age groups, professions, and surrounding communities. The group is known for delivering engaging performances that appeal to a wide audience, from seasoned classical music fans to families discovering orchestral music for the first time.
