Fourteen members of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office were recognized for their heroic efforts in saving lives during the 61st annual Ontario County Safety Council Awards Banquet. The event, held March 25 at Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor, highlighted acts of bravery and swift action in critical situations throughout 2024.
Among the honorees was Correction Officer Nicholas Natale, who received the Life-Saving Award for preventing an inmate suicide attempt. Deputy Robert Duliba was named Ontario County STOP DWI Officer of the Year after making 22 arrests for impaired and intoxicated driving last year.
The Dr. Ben Lankheet Heart Starter Award was presented to Deputies David Fischer and Brandon Jacobs for using CPR and an AED to save a person suffering cardiac arrest following a seizure. Several other individuals earned Letters of Commendation for outstanding service, including Senior Communications Officer Nathan Martin and Communications Officers Christopher Foster, Christopher Burt, Sandra Rogers, Hannah DelGatto, and Melissa Lathey. Deputies Brian Larkin, Patrick Fitzgerald, David Fischer, and Alanna Polisseni were also recognized.
Sheriff David J. Cirencione expressed gratitude for the honorees, acknowledging their courage in responding to life-threatening emergencies. He noted that their actions prevented tragedies and made a lasting impact on the community.
