Two men were arrested Sunday evening after Ithaca police discovered drugs and illegal weapons inside a suspicious vehicle parked downtown.
Officers detained 40-year-old Garrett E. Ventura of Ithaca and 48-year-old Michael P. Inman of Newfield around 5:56 p.m. on March 23. The arrests occurred inside the Green Street Parking Garage at 126 E. Green Street.
Police said they found about 90 grams of methamphetamine packaged for sale, a billy club, metal knuckles with a knife attachment, and a digital scale with residue in the vehicle. Both men now face multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.
Inman was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, an A-II felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a D felony.
Ventura was also charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He faces additional counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
Judge Seth Peacock arraigned both men in Ithaca City Court. They were remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
