Wayne County names Mark Humbert interim administrator

The Wayne County Board of Supervisors appointed Mark Humbert as interim county administrator, filling the role just days before Rick House’s retirement on March 28, according to The Finger Lakes Times. Humbert, a former college administrator and deputy director of the county’s Land Bank, will earn a $150,000 salary.

While Humbert met the qualifications for the permanent position, he stated he only sought the interim role. Meanwhile, the county is launching a broader search due to a lack of qualified applicants. Humbert will temporarily step down from his county-affiliated roles during his tenure.

Board leaders praised Humbert’s local experience and leadership, ensuring a smooth transition. He emphasized his commitment to improving county operations and maximizing its potential.
